Eight-in-Hand

One man's preoccupation with second-hand neckties
and other thrifted wares.

Anonymous asked: Which thrift stores do you go to? If you live in New York, can we please go together sometimes?

I’m in Rhode Island, and for the most part I tend to visit the mainstays: Salvation Army, Goodwill, and Savers (elsewhere known as Value Village), if only because they tend to have a larger selection. For variety, I’ll head to the charity shops operated by the Society of St. Vincent de Paul and other local church, community, and independent thrift stores. Basically, everywhere I can.

So obviously I’m not in New York, but I got by BA from NYU and have many friends who live in the city, so I tend to visit every few months. However, I can’t say I’ve done much NYC thrift shopping, not even during my college years. So maybe you could be the one to take me thrifting in New York.
